I’m passionate about both backend and frontend programming. I love building full-stack applications that look and feel great to use. I believe that education doesn’t have to be overwhelming; it can be fun, interactive and engaging. This is why I am particularly interested in using technology to create educational tools that help people to understand difficult concepts more easily. Kanika Gupta

My research interest is in educational technology and interactive simulations. Some of my work includes the development of innovative tools to enhance learning experiences, such as an Epidemic Spread Simulator and a machine-learning-based chatbot for detecting COVID-19 misinformation. I am particularly interested in how simulations and interactive technologies can transform education, making complex systems more accessible and engaging for learners. In my free time, you will most likely find me reading, swimming or trying to ride a bike (still learning!).

I like how computer science can positively impact a variety of fields that make our lives easier and enriched. The topic of complex systems, which my thesis is related to, is one I find fascinating due to its interdisciplinary nature and profound implications on areas that remain largely unexplored. In addition, my interests include reading, illustrating, creating music, paleontology and the deep sea.

I have a background in CS and design, which leads to my strong interest in coding and designing. I am particularly interested in UX design and HCI, and I seek to build intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that improve user experiences through new design solutions. I believe that, by thoughtfully and effectively integrating code and design, we can greatly enhance how users engage with technology, making it more accessible and entertaining for all. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, painting, and reading.

I am interested in users’ views on computer systems and am excited about improving education systems to fit users’ needs. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. When I am not traveling, you might find me horse riding or cooking.
