Thesis Focus Types
- Experiment-focused — You’d design instructional principles or activities using an existing learning environment and conduct an experiment, potentially using eye-tracking, to test their effectiveness and your research questions.
- Data analysis-focused — You’d use an existing dataset, such as log data, video data, survey data, interview data, learning performance data, or multimodal data, to answer your own research questions.
- Design-focused — You’d engage in iterative (co-)design research with practitioners, community members, or students to produce digital artifacts, which would be followed by user testing or evaluations.
- Systematic Literature Review — You’d systematically search, select, review, and synthesize existing research on a specific topic to identify key findings, trends, gaps, and future research directions.
